1:1400 Enterprise E photoetches

Post by Father Cool » Tue Jan 08, 2019 1:25 pm

Just a quick note.

I am currently building the AMT 1:1400 enterprise E and have been finding it very difficult to get hold of the Paragraphix photo etch set here in the UK.

Anyway, to cut a long story short I am producing my own etches for it instead, drawn up by measuring the model.

It will include all of the parts that are on the Paragraphix version but to my design with the addition of transporter emitters as well.

I am also going to produce 3D printed extra parts for the nemesis version.

The question is would anyone be interested in purchasing these if I made them available to buy (etches and maybe 3D print parts)?

So just a quick bump on this. I am about to get my custom etches done and was just chasing up if anyone is interested in a set so I know how many to make.

Heres a small low res screen cap of the etch so give an idea of whats on there. I am also going to add the observation lounge windows at the back of the bridge today as I messed those up cutting them out on my model last night (was too lazy to change my drill bit and ended up removing the dividing bars between the windows).

The price would be £20 plus postage and packing.

I would be interested in a set, plus any 3D printed bits. But were the Paragraphix #7, #8, #9 and #10 omitted from the set?

The sensor pallet parts.

When looking at the studio model there seemed to be only the very slightest of raised detail ( the large square parts are of coarse moulded onto the model in any case) which when reduced to the 1:1400 would be barely raised at all. I decided that it would be far easier to do with paint or a decal than an etch (even a few offcuts of styrene or masking tape if need be).

However if the concesus is that it is necessary I can add it in.

Also does anyone want me to add the sensor pallets?

It’s all interesting, watching with interest

I’ll be interested in a set, but might be a month or so until I can pay

Ah cool. Well I can certainly do you a set in advance. What are your thoughts regarding the sensor pallette?

Do it, you’ll feel like you’re regret it afterwards anyway

Any thoughts on shuttlebay interiors?
