Ok the saucer is on. What a pain that was. I managed to snap off every locating peg whilst trying to stuff all the wiring into the top half inch of neck. Ended up making new pegs from brass rod. Now the neck doesn't fit 100% right into the saucer so need to get the miliput out in order to fill out the tiny gap which I will of course repaint to match the blue already there.

Anyway, first lighting test. Not bad I think. A couple of areas where there are small light leaks and the nacelle grilles where the blue is needs touching up where some of the paint has come adrift whilst stored for 9 years and is now letting a bit of light through. Hard to see when the lights are off though.

Nav deflector and final details paints and decals to do then that'll be it for the model itself. The base and lighting control will follow.

Anyway a few first lighting tests.

Thanks TrekMD.

I will hopefully get chance later to add the filler to the neck asnd wire in and attach the nav deflector.

Nav deflector in place.

Will take some lit shots with it soon. Just working on more paintwork and decals at the mo.

Cheers Tesral.

Making good pace now, just trying to knock up a code for the arduino powered lighting while some more paint dries. The end is in sight I feel.

Cheers. Hopefully it will be amazing when I've finished it.

Anyway today I've been tidying up the edges of the strongback and started adding the rest of the blue. Just the warp conduit covers on the nacelle pylons to do and then onto tidying up the black and adding the detail paints.

I still think the strongback is too dark but I'm not sure whether it has grown on me now or should I still knock it back? Comments?
What paints did you use for the strongback?

Vallejo model colour. Various shades mixed to suit. It all ended up bluer than I planned but its grown on me since.
