I hear you man. The 1780s was the sh*t.

Also J-pop. I don't know why. It's the audio equivalent of pure sugar.

I collect movie scores. Just love that type of music, among others.
TrekMD - we should talk!! I have so many movies scores, I have even indoctrinated my kids to love them. I speak of composers like others speak of Rock Stars. Didn't hurt that I was a Music Major in another life!

If ya want; no pressure.

Kobayashimaru may want to get in on this too!

Sounds good to me! I have some import versions of soundtracks because they are far more complete than what we normally get in the US.

thanks for a great thread!
it is my understanding that,
this thread is asking "what do you listen to while you are making a model"
moreso hehe.

I think we'll be surprised the difference,
between the "displaying" music / after-it's-finished, and the "while you're building it"

------
I digress,
being a borg :borg:
if you picture that scene from BttF:2, where Marty's Descendant has like 30 channels blaring, and music and all while
playing a videogame, that's about it hehe.
I listen to podcasts and How-To's, AGI-Readalong vocaloids of papers etc,
I listen to things in other languages (to maintain passive-acquisition, pronunciation/accent etc) <--- "regionalized"/"folk music" fits in this category somewhat.
but more often, I listen to
techno, electric etc <--- anagogic, neuromorphic, rheothixopectic-keyed, infini-midis etc
PowerMetal/Screamo <--- powerglove, powerman, Heidi & the Screamers, The Chisel, etc
and comedy music (Viktor Borge, Hard-n-Phirm RichardCheese & his band, WeirdAl, WilliamShatnerSings... Yodelahiho-har etc).
usually some combo of the above. usually a random-repeatFIFO.

PowerMetal is usually after an injury, or if I have to crank out a lot of stuff with repetitive task stuff.
Techno and Electric/synth music is more for "error checking" than solely repetitive task. I play a song orthogonal to the types of patterns I'm likely to encounter in the error-checking - it forces me to catch more errors by not matching the pattern of the task.
Do others play specific styles of song for the specific model-building task? I've often wondered about this.

Do you listen to your music via-person-specific soundsystem (headphones)
or, via the P.A. system or big speakers etc?
---- how do you handle multi-user workspaces, such as at the local Model Club, or at competitions where they have "build-offs" on the day?

See, to me, if it's a time-sensitive repetitive task, I need muh musak to be loud
it'll be power metal. No cussing (doesn't need to be cussing to be power-metal/screamo), just a lot of emotion.

My office/computer room/modeling area is equipped with a Bose speaker system, those little cubes and a subwolfer. And an actual component Stereo system. The other place I usually listen to music is the car and that has, well the car system with a 16 gig USB stick filled with my stuff in MP3 format. You can stuff a hell of a lot of music onto a 16 gig chip.
