I love Humbrol. Near impossible to get.Cubey Terra wrote: ↑Wed Sep 05, 2018 1:20 amHappy to see somebody else using Humbrol enamels. They need a bit of thinning, but I like the durability once they dry.
Nice work so far!![]()

Thanks all, your kind words are a great boost to helping me finish it sooner rather than later.
There's been a bit of a supply issue in the UK with Humbrol lately, supposedly the parent company Hornby is on the verge of bankruptcy or so my local model shop guy tells me.

I went to my local Hobby craft today and saw that over half of the Humbrol stand was empty. They did have Revell though and some Tamiya so I just had to relieve them of some stock.

That was the case last time I looked as well. I did not get any Humbrol because everything else I have is Acrylic. Without a sure stock I'm not getting back into it.

Really? The hobby stores around Vancouver always have Humbrol on the shelves.Tesral wrote: ↑Wed Sep 05, 2018 5:30 amI love Humbrol. Yes, I don't live in Vancouver. Only one LHS has it and they have not much.Cubey Terra wrote: ↑Fri Sep 07, 2018 4:07 am

Update time. Unfortunately working away a lot is is slowing things down, but progress is being made on the final paint details.

Decals are going on - completed both the nacelles today:
This red decal underneath was a right pain, not least of all because it doesn't line up with the markings on the model:
It's also interesting to note just what a difference to the perceived colour the ambient lighting makes; the above pics were lit by daylight but this one is via lightbulbs:
Meanwhile I'm down to the last bits of painting on the saucer, such as the bridge dome and running lights:

Re: Starcrafts 1:1400 TOS Enterprise (WiP)
Saucer decals complete - still got the neck windows to do, but I'm saving those for after I've joined, puttied and painted the two hulls:
All else that's left on the saucer is to paint the port and starboard running lights.
Now onto the engineering hull decals then it's finally time to crack the superglue out!
