Flying fantasy.

Sadly I only have as much time as everyone else. So things get ignored when something else comes up.

Lately that has been the flying ships seen in my fantasy game. I'm posting links because the graphics are huge and detail is lost if I shrink them.

A link to my D&D G-Drive folder The ships are out in the open.

The Helen sub-folder is one ship with full interiors at battlemat scale 1"=5'. My original idea was to make a full model of this ship that would be over 40 inches long. You could break it down to access each deck. Sanity came surging back when I realized that if I built the monster, I would HAVE it. And then it must be stored some place. I'm short on some places.

Ergo the ambitions were reduced to making deck plan flats in that scale, something that would fit in the closet. The plans are printed out, the nice quarter inch plywood is cut and ready. I just have to trim them and glue it down. I think some varnish is in store as well.

I also recovered the lost picture of the Imperial Sovereign. I thought it gone forever, but I found a postscript file that had the original, lower res picture. I captured it, rescaled and redrew it using the original as a templet. It is in the directory as "150gun.png". I printed out the ship in 1/1000 scale, and it is about the size of the secondary hull on the E-0. A 400 foot, eight story building that floats. Ain't fantasy wonderful?

dang, is that in part from that "wither..." series of moves,
I enjoyed the Airships - they're like "Fantasy SkyCaptain of Tomorrow"
with extra water-world-esque whimsy.

These are solely my creations filtered though the age of Nelson.
