Defiant/Intrepid hybrid build

Here’s the next model in progress at my bench: yep, it’s another non-canon kit! (I have canon starships in the queue, I swear). Unfortunately this is another one where I’ve forgotten the class name. It’s another old kit from Ravenstar, so Del at MVM will probably have to help me out again..thanks in advance!

I envision this as a descendant of the Defiant class, with a touch of Intrepid thrown in. I added a couple of little greebles to make pulse phaser cannons & inscribed some texture on the front diamond-shaped panel for an exposed sensor array like on the Intrepid saucer.

I inscribed some grid lines and windows but priming and base coating has shown me how out of scale they are. My bad! I’m going to fill in the lines as best I can. Any suggestions on that repair job are welcome!

Cool! I have one of these as well, been sitting in a coat of primer for I don't know how long! I can't wait to see how yours comes out, I don't think I've seen very many of these built up.

I have one of these Ravenstar babies in my fleet, looks great sat up against bigger ships

What kind of paint color scheme did you use, RM?

I'm away for a couple days but will take a pic when I get back. Was made by varying shades of grey to give it same sorta scheme as Voyager Era ships

Thanks for the look; that will be a great color reference when it comes time to paint. I just ordered decals for it. I’m going with the class name-USS Tempest. Otherwise, still sanding and filling for now!
