Ah cool! I like it from the rear top quarter view!! Very nice.

Is the styrene ribs etc inside the structure cut by hand or laser etc. They all seem very accurately cut.

The styrene is all cut by hand. Templates of the formers were printed on paper from the sectioned scaled 3D model hull and then traced to the plastic.

It all looks very nice. I'm planning a full scratchbuild sometime this year from a 24th century design I did about 15 years ago. I will be taking notes. Mine will be a lot smaller than this though.

Cheers.

It won't be my first scratchbuild but it will be my first starship scratchbuild. I'm looking forward to the process.

Been following along on FB, naturally.....and it's nice to see it here in one spot! The Endurance is going to be a beast, it's an amazing model to see come together.

Now that you're getting out of the 537 stuff, have you considered rebuilding the Shangri-la or the Wasp in 350? Or is that a "done and move on" sorta thing.

One day we'll meet up at a Wonderfest or something. Imma take my tiny 1/1400 scale Sentinel and get a photo of it nexte das giant 1/350 version of yours.

Thanks for following the build. I have been considering a 350 Shangri-La - Flight II variant, for a while (USS Navarone). It might be on the bench next as an easier build than the total scratch build ordeal. There is a pre-Wasp concept that's been in development for some time too as a 1/350 project. You may have seen images of the 571 Blackhawk on FB and elsewhere. There is a list of potential projects that will keep me busy for years and many more get added day by day.

Yes, let me know if you plan on attending WonderFest so I can make sure to bring the Sentinel along for a photo-op. It's funny that I think of 1/537 as tiny anymore, but 1/1400 is microscopic. :D

Ha, hey now it's not the size of the ship! It's the......

.....nah. It's the size of the ship. But building in 1/1400 means I can pack in some good detail while still keeping plenty of space for an expanding fleet. It's those 1/2500'ers who are REALLY nuts!!

Rommell Calderon and I are hatching a half-mad plan to bring our respective 1/1400 scale fleets to Wonderfest 2021. We'll keep our fingers crossed that the Sentinel class ships we have can maybe meet their giant doppelganger from the Tycho universe. I have two Sentinels in my docks, they're scheduled for paint some time after Belknap and Indomitable are done.

(Also, unabashedly waiting for the Hood to make its way onto Shapeways. I saw Repulse on there earlier this year. Hood is my favorite, but I may just have to be a Tycho yards completionist in 1/1400 scale...)

I usually bring Shang with me to WF every year as my good-luck charm. So far, so good. I've finished two 1000 Sentinels (Vanguard and Electra) and one Repulse (Fury) that I'm planning on bringing this year along with Endurance. I doubt I'll have the time, but was hoping to create a "Tycho Yard" diorama to display all three in dock. Too ambitious for what little time I have but they'll be there.

Yes, I've seen Repulse available on SW at 1400. Still no word about the Hood in any scale other than seeing finished masters for the 1000 before the curtain dropped on UGH.

I'm still contemplating mastering a digital 1/350 Javelin shuttlecraft yet so that I can populate the hangar bay. Look for that on Shapeways at some point too.

Here's the 1000 Vanguard and Electra:
