Thanks NGM
Starting on the engine decals. These are really hard to get on!
I received a set of nacelle pylons for the 1/1400 Enterprise A from Dennis (thanks Dennis) and will see if they look alright.
There’s been a few options mentioned here- use 1/2500 scale ones (which I’ve discounted only because I want to keep the studio models proportions). Use the 1/1400 Enterprise ones- whilst this keeps the size, the thickness of the pylons make it look a bit ‘chunky’ here, or scratch build ones from styrene. This way, you can keep the size but they can be made less chunky. I might go option 3.

Thanks
For all intents and purposes, the decals are done now. There was some gaps in the blue of the warp engine decals but I’ll mix some paint to spray on to fill the gaps later.
Just need to make the bottom warp nacelle pylons now.

Just been adding some detail decals and paint to the Hutzel and making the pylons to connect the third nacelle.
I purposely made these pylons different to the refit pylons to represent that theses are not just ‘blown up’ versions of the Refit Contitution nacelles. They just look similar (sort of how a Cadillac and a Toyota both look like cars, but are not the same).

I know what the show FX guys did. I would have used a single pylon that matched the other two.
No patch on your build mind you:
"Well sir, we have not manged to land a single shuttle. The impulse engines cook them all."
Then you turn around and you can't find any on the Nebula. Sigh, TV model builders are not engineers.

Im not really trying to re-invent it (even though that might not be such a bad idea), just building it as a tribute to Mr Hutzel. I did however build the pylons in a way which reflects the other ones, in that I stepped down the leading and trailing edges.
Ah, I didn’t think of that! Maybe I might have to repurpose the large impulse engines as shuttle bays.
Got the lower pylons on and decals applied tonight.

And the third warp engine is in place. I'm not calling this done til I make a stand though.

Lookin' great, Andy! When I build mine - which will be named for my good friend, Kratok - I hope it turns out even just half as good as yours!

Finished. In memory of Gary Hutzel who we lost on
March 1, 2016.
Notice in the 3rd and 4th pics, the helmsman has scraped the saucer on the dry dock after its refit post the Dominion war
Also, special thanks to The members here who without there help, I would not have finished this . Especially Kratok and MEATLOAFr and all the others with inspiring builds here
