Oh, and nice model SKO. She's coming together nicely. What are your thoughts about the overall hull treatment? Looking at the high-res Last Outpost screencaps shows a blended, mottled coloration, perfect for an airbrush.

I wish, but at the moment I don't have an airbrush so I've done my best with rattle, brush, and washes

Those are nice pictures of the actual model. And you say you have more??

I would love to have threads that contain reference pictures for as many subjects as possible. I always struggle to collect this information and save it for later use. It would be great if we could just look it up here! I would include background information (size(s), etc.) and schematic in 1 post, screen captures in another, model pics in another and finally links (to completed builds on AST and other good reference sites). We could have 1 owner update these posts with additional data/pics (submitted by PM or comment thread). Some topics (like TOS Constitution) could have sub-threads for variants (like 1st pilot, 2nd pilot, production series, remastered, etc.).

BTW - SKO can you finish the damn thing already? Its been 10 days now!

Just kidding, great job & super fast!

Yes it's really interesting nobody, and I mean nobody, has a picture of the bottom of this ship. As best I can tell the old adversary kit model is the basis for most people's idea of what the bottom of this ship actually looks like and we all know how dangerous it can be to trust AMT's idea of accuracy. To be honest, Tesral, I looked at those shots of that model you posted and I had found those when I was googling for reference pics for this build and I don't even think that is the actual studio model so much as a fan's reproduction of a studio scale model. So if anybody ever finds an actual picture of the entirety of the bottom of that ship I'll be very grateful.

And thanks Slawton! Just waiting for my decals in the mail and then she'll be good to go.

Finished. I'd like it if the decals were more opaque and a lighter shade of green but it was either the generic PNT decals or the JT Graphics set for the old Macro Trek kit that I'm guessing would have been too big. Still I'm overall pretty pleased with her.

I actually took WarpNein's advice and did a wash on the engines with a neon orange to give them a neat glow that's definitely noticeable in real life but for some damn reason my camera washes it out.

@SKO
indeed, the image doesn't seem to be capturing that yellow-orange hue.
possibly due to a mode?
if you try no flash in "macro-mode", with a 'diffuse light box' / 'semi-satin gloss background'
it may make that awesome detail on this well-completed ferengi ship more visible. :D

excellent work in any event SKO -
thanks for sharing the additional underside pics too.

Yeah I'll have to see if I can change the setting and maybe if I take the picture during the day in natural light it'll show up better, it's funny in person the engines now look more orange than yellow but the camera doesn't capture any of it. Odd.

Not odd at all. Beautiful build BTW. True color with photography has always bee nan issue. The light you have it under, reflected light off other objects, the film stock, and now the CCD and settings.

I do like the model. And very nice job.
