For my calculations of the size of the ST Discovery spaceships, I used the size of Commander Michael Burnham. I used the bridge to calculate how tall the decks are.el gato wrote:...Question: I understand that the Discovery's dimensions were finally revealed through the Eaglemoss mini. Did the same happen with the Walker Class? And, if so, how do they measure to your calculations?

Re: STAR TREK Size Chart
Hi to all, @FLEETYARD Hi, I love seeing schematics and size comparisons, They give a real sense of solidity and scale and complexity to otherwise ephemeral images onscreen.
Do you ever use real-world sizes - such as an actors published height on their homepage - to determine the dimensions of onscreen sets? I find it laudable that you provide such detailed comparisons. When I first got hold of the Sternbach E-D blueprints I was mesmerised for a week, The Jeffries plans... well, nuff said.
I'm not sure if you have said in this thread (or I have just missed it), but what criteria do you employ to reconcile discrepencies between what's seen onscreen, the published (canon?) information, and other written works, such as the Writer's Technical Manual and interviews with the creators of the shows?
Many thanks for all your work.

Re: STAR TREK Size Chart
Interesting. The guys from TrekYards did a video about this a few weeks ago and came up with several potential sizes also.

It still would be better off with a single central pylon.

Re: STAR TREK Size Chart
Sorry for resurrect this old post, but I found it just now, and actually there is another episode which allows for a better size estimation, it is season 3 episode 20 "Tin Man", where a Romulan Warbird pass exactly over the Enterprise, shotting at it on the process, and disabling it. The scene is fast, but as it pass over the enterprise, there are less perspective distortion. I will try to get a better shot, as if I am not wrong, on the sequence of this scene, there is a side view which shows the Warbird passing over the Enterprise.TrekMD wrote:...I think this impression from TNG "The Neutral Zone" is the only screencap in which you can realize the size

Re: STAR TREK Size Chart
Yes, that's one of the instances where you can see the scale is off. The Warbird doesn't look quite as large as it is supposed to be, if I remember correctly.
