D-10 Riskadh, IKS Bat'leth

Post by Griffworks »

From Miscellaneous Models, sold thru Federation Models and mastered by Scott Scariott. It's a pretty simple kit, with only 5 parts. No base, nor do I think it included decals.

I added some WAVE Option System parts for the impulse engines, aft photorp tube and some heavy disrupters.

In formation with a D-11 One-Wing destroyer.

Still trying to decide what color to go with. Looking to go mostly TOS, but will keep it grey, not likely to add any green or purple.

I had a request for info on the length of the kit, as well as a comparison to the D-7 kit. So, here you are!

The dimensions are - approximately - 11.75" /30cm long by 7" / 17.7cm wide, once assembled. Good sized for a Klingon ship in 1/1000!

Next to Gr'oth.

I've started on the base coat. I decided to go with a sort of end of TOS/Phase II timeframe, so a solid color for this and the D-11: AS-2 Light Gray (IJN). Pics after the base coat is complete.

Dang it, you're going to make me want to get one of these in 2500

As I said earlier, I decided to go with Tamiya rattlecan AS-2 Light Gray (IJN) for the base coat, both for the D-10 and the D-11.

That's the D-11 One-Wing and G'roth in formation.

Close up of the heavy disruptors. These are on the tip of each of the forward "wings", and I intend for them to have a roughly 10• arc of independent fire. Enough to allow to fire other than *just* straight ahead.

I figured you already had one.

Yes, definitely get one for your Klingon fleet!

Nah, I wasn't convinced about the look of it until I saw your build. I thought the proportions were off. You convinced me it really is a beast.

*BUMP!* 'Cause it's been a while since I updated any pics! Nothing major to show, just some reminder of the sexy of Klingon ships.

I hope to do some detail painting this weekend. These two will definitely be a part of that.

Thanks. It's been a fun ride.

I've got another that I picked up in a trade with Kratok - who's sadly no longer here - and intend to build it at some point in the future. This one, tho, will be a TMP Era ship, so I plan to use K'T'Inga nacelles and command pod parts, as well as add hull plating decals.
