Getting started

Post by mophius »

Well I bit the bullet tonight and placed an order for some ships. Well... Err.... I may have got click happy because I ordered four box-sets. All in Sacred scale
TMP triple set, D7, Reliant and Enterprise refit
Original triple set, Enterprise, D7 and Romulan BoP
DS9 triple set, Galor, Saratoga and Defiant
Enterprise set, Original, Refit and 'B'

At least I can practice on two of the Enterpise ships first as i will have doubles. Watch for my posts.

Remember, the first step to a cure is admitting, you have a problem...
you, however , have NO problem.... unless you're married and she asks why you order 12 toy spaceships..
I had to get a subscription to Playboy just to convince my girlfriend (now wife) that I wasn't Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory!
Happy building! And make sure you get some fresh air from time to time. Glue fumes, ya know...
i don't know. I'm making it up as I go.

Sometimes getting someone from Playboy would be cheaper than building something from Fine Scale Modeler

also easier to explain to your friends why you're "in the dog house" by the wife

You have hit the nail on the head there. She has already said I am to wait until payday. Now I have to get them home and in a build area which I have yet to designate. They are being delivered to my work so she won't see them at first. Probably going to be the shed which still needs powering up and a bench made. Otherwise it will be the dining table which is alright as long as i don't have to spraypaint basecoats or primers. Then I will have some explaining to do.

Just looking at Shapeways website. WOW!!!

If had an easier cash flow I would be ordering in bulk from there. I am getting lost in the pages and even thinking of doing other franchise ships too.
Anyone from UK had delivery from there?

Not had much problem with delivery from Shapeways other than it takes a bit time They must have a place in Europe as I've never been hit with import charges
