I've thought of making a display case. It would be 4 half-walls and one wall split in two so that they open as doors

I thought of it as a display case for my models, but that's another good use

I changed my model box as the 'fan art' image as gorgeous as it was rendered zoomed in was making detail work incredibly hard so:

Started working on detailing, rebuilt the pylons to the orb thing in the middle:

... and made the basic bulge parts before I start modelling the pipes etc.

added my 'sails' to it to see how if 'fits' need to work on the connections to the smaller sails at the tips but overall i'm happy though like the probe I sense my frustration will come when it comes to the time to make all the pipes and stuff lol

Because when you see the Diamond in Dark Frontier it's moving and has an excessive amount of motion blur I'm taking a little bit of creative control with the panel work as there is no way this thing is going to be baby bottom smooth. I'm not going to go overboard with it, but enough to break the solid lines :)

Model so far is completely hollow and will be large enough for lighting kits for the moment. :)

Wow, Adam - I'm stunned at the rapid progress you have made with this. Looks fantastic. Watching this one closely to see where you take it.

I'm really surprised how long it's taking too. 6/7 hours in.. But then it's set to instantly mirror every polygon 8 times to build up lol.

The time consuming part will be all the pipes wires and nodes, particularly on the top n bottom bulging bits and the connection arms

How come you're not just concentrating on one of the sides and once you've got the common elements in, copy it 3 more times and customize accordingly?
