I'm calling this one done. It's the Delta Quadrant D-4/Early D-7. I added to the supplied decals to cover up some "holes" that I didn't like. Those were on the impulse housing, the ventral side, the forward bulb and aft. I also added some rigging on the neck and aft.

I'm also excited to be done with the building of the DQ D-5. It's mostly OOB but I added the rigging. It will get a primer coat come the warm weather

I'm also calling these two JJ-verse ships done. Both were Gizmotron offerings, now they're under the FedMod brand. I used the same shade of gull grey, it's just that one had a white primer and the other a black primer. Overall I like the latter better. I made the wallpaper decals. First up, it's the USS Hornet

And now the USS Newton

Great work on all of them !

What base colour did you use on the D4 ? Is that a silver or a pale grey ? The extra home made decals really lift it into the extraordinary category .

Thanks NoKhando! The base color is, um, interesting. It was an aluminum/silver metalizer that went on dull and you had to buff in order for it to shine. It was the same paint I used on my E-A build... back in the mid-90s! I don't think it's even made any more. The closest I could find to it is this:

Image

I wanted the D-4 to look beat up and severely weathered in order to go with the look the body has, which is that of an incomplete D-7. Because I wanted it to look like it was old, when I found the old rattle can with who knows how much paint and propellant it had left in it, I knew I had a winner. If you look at the D4 in person you'd see the model has a mottled look to it, with not just inconsistent paint cover but also bits of primer and resin (where I did some strategic sanding) still showing through

Nice work on the JJ ships. The decals are great and fit nicely.
The D4 is good too with the 'weathered' look
There is no dark side of the moon really, matter of fact its all dark.

Thank you sir!

It is unfortunate that these will be the last that I can build for the next few months. Job #2 has me in The Deep Hurting, a period where every waking free time that I am not in Job #1 is spent reading applications. Hence the name.

Gotta say, you did a hell of a great job on all those!
Those JJTrek designs are not my thing, but you really made them shine!
