Here's a scale sketch of what I'm hoping to accomplish -- the image you see here is my 55" 3d tv and the 1/350 scale trek models plus the 1/144 Moebius Discovery
Looks great with the obvious pairing of the Enterprise and the Reliant, but the Discovery with the monolith shelf directly underneath is gold. I cringe every time I watch TMP for many reasons, but if you're building the 350 Refit, then you might as well build the K'Tinga, and then you can change up the décor periodically by switching the Reliant/K'Tinga.

Thanks man! Yeah, I definitely want the ability to swap out those ships, and since I was gifted with a 350 K'tinga via the kindness of a not-so-stranger, I have it in the stash to be done!

I fixed the nacelle endcaps, then touched up with some decanted spray camo gray to match the hull, and I'm much happier with the overall look now. I still meet to mask off the white squares and paint the red and green running lights, but otherwise I think I can call this one done with painting and ready to move to the decal station. Here she is with the rest of the Novahobbies TOS fleet....

Last pics for the night....and probably the last pics before decals. Got the white rectangles marked and painted, same w the engine grilles, and the running lights sorted. I think we're about done with the Surya painting. Time to go back to the rest of the frigates and finish painting their warp engines.

I'll snap some pics later, but it's official....I've run out of things to paint. Finished the warp engines for the Saratoga, Soyuz, and Knox tonight, plus touch-ups. Time to print decals and start clear coating hulls. I hope to be applying decals by this weekend!

Well work has been balls-to-the-wall this past week, so very little progress has been made on the 4 ship friggin'frigatefleet set. But! All main hulls are glossed, and the warp engines are receiving their gloss coat today. I usually hand brush 2 to 3 coats of future floor wax. I went ahead and glued the pods to the Bozeman yesterday, as well. Slow but steady!

Progress on the Surya. Really, REALLY slow progress. Work is a bear, very little down time when I get home these days. Hoping this weekend will bring some quiet moments.

Anyway, I pencilled in some grid lines this week. I made a couple attempts, I think I'm going to go with this one.

The Surya class USS Oberon is SO close! The only thing missing is her registry decals. I made a font error and didn't notice it until I had already printed! Oh well, maybe I can get that fixed this week. In any case, the upper grid, rust ring, and all the other tags and markings are done and sorted.....check her out!

Okie dokie! Some updates. I have been having some decal issues, but the wallpaper aztecs are finally going on....starting with the Knox class.

I'm using the same resized decals I did for the Brattain:

The color is slightly less blue here...I think the gloss coat I sprayed may have sent the color balance off. They are leaning to green, just a tiny bit. I......actually like it....I think.

And here's the top done:

Oh, also the Oberon received her registry. The registry decal slivered a bit, but what's done is done...I can't go back to replace that without replacing the entire grid and rust ring decal. I'm just not feelin' that. ;)
