D'Kora Class FMS Kreechta WIP
After finally giving up hope on ever acquiring a Macro Trek version in good shape at a reasonable price I was able to commission this from MadMan and he's shipping it to me this week. Can't wait to add one of my favorite alien vessels to my fleet

I don't have it in hand yet to measure it but using the 366 M design length Probert provided it should be around 10-10 1/2 inches so that's what MadMan was aiming for length wise. It should be a bit smaller than the old Macro Trek version which I'm told was really closer to 1/1000 if you use the 366 number. When I get it in the mail this week I'll post some shots next to some other 1/1400 scale for comparison.

So is that cast or 3D printed?

3D printed. It looks pretty detailed. He's sending me a picture of the bottom of the kit tonight before shipping it out. I will post a full review when I get it in hand.

Contact MadMan I'm sure he'd be happy to print you another. Look up MadMans Shipyard on either facebook or through his website.
He also sent me a shot of the bottom: Obviously gonna need to putty some seams but looking good otherwise. Hopefully he's shipping it tomorrow!

looks pretty good. Madman's stuff is nice: I have one model he did for me (a 1/1400 scale Indomitable class). There are some pretty solid print lines, BUT his stuff seems to sand a little better than the base-level shapeways stuff. I'll be using him again I'm sure.

post some pics up to compare it to the E-D when you get it, if you can, please. I'd like to see how it looks. I'd like a D'kora at some point as well!

yeah I've never worked with a 3D kit before but I've seen some of his finished builds and they seem like they can sand to a fairly smooth finish, and this kit looks like one that has a lot of wide flat surface area to sand down relatively easily. I'm willing to accept some imperfections though if it means having one in the fleet, it's one of my favorite designs and I had mostly given up hope of ever getting one.novahobbies wrote: ↑Tue Aug 21, 2018 7:29 pmlooks pretty good.
