I’ve had this kit a few years but it went on the back burner after I stood on it and broke it’s neck.
Anyway, after pulling out the “Ugh” 1/1000 version to start on it, I thought I’d finish this one off at the same time.
I’ve been really slack and it’s the first full kit I’ve completed this year!

Very neat indeed. A lot of detail on a not terribly large model.
How was the neck damaged and fixed? I've never had my hands on one of those.

Thanks guys. Yes, it feels more like building a 1/2500 scale model at this size
I had the primary hull and secondary hull together and stood right on it, snapping it right at the base of the secondary hull. I drill a small hole and ran a bit of steel rod down the neck to keep it in place.

It is noted that resin can be forgiving, if you brace it up.andyh wrote:Thanks guys. Yes, it feels more like building a 1/2500 scale model at this size

Cool build! It feels good to just finish a kit, doesn't it?

It sure does! I crashed my car about 8 months ago and had to do the repair work myself, so I’ve spent most of my free time rebuilding my 1:1 scale Cadillac. Funny thing is, I spray painted it using the same gun I use on my models (very time consuming, but effective ).el gato wrote:Cool build! It feels good to just finish a kit, doesn't it?

I'll stop drooling over this soon... Looks like it's out of production nowadays?

The 1/1000 scale one is available from “Ugh” models if you don’t mind that scale.

Looks great, thanks for sharing!
Yep, Del owns the masters to this and will release it again when he's ready. But if you just can't wait....the 1/1000 scale UGH! kit is also very nice, and not a huge amount bigger. I don't own that one but I've seen it and it looks good.
Tell ya what....I DO own the 1/1000 UGH Comet model, and that's a sweet little ship! Very cool addition to the fleet.
