Of course, if I do this, I'll do it later down the road. I'm ready to call this done. For a few months anyway.
Awwww, that looks great, but yours is killer, man. If it's not too much work and you're all about it do it, but I really like yours.

Andy, just build this as an alternate station. I don't think there's a single accurate part on this model that matches the studio model. Not one.
I've thought about doing that, calling it Starbase K-something else

According to the Star Trek Technical Manual (TOS) there were also border stations along the Romulan/Federation border.

That certainly is an option. It would be nice do an accurate K7 though. Maybe a scratch build is in order :)

While I was photographing the final shots on the D'kyr, I remembered I never got to do the "final reveal" for the K-2 station. Here she is in finished form, with a few buddies floating around in various pics as well. Hope you like them.

Much, MUCH happier with my final lettering choice compared to the original kit decal.

Very happy with the little shuttlebay. And the universal anachronism currently docked.

.....a few more:

Rather than saying, "oh this is a giant grain storage bin" (seriously, it's not much bigger than a real life silo, and do we need a silo in space??), I envision this section of the ship to be main engineering. The main reactor and all reactants should be here, easily jettisonable if needed.

That's it! Hope those are a little nicer than the original shots I took. Enjoy!

Nice station! Is the MF painted? Looks too clean. Or is that because it's in the Trek universe and not the dirty ol' Star Warts universe?

I never finished it. Gave it a white primer, pre-shaded the exhaust ports, painted the engine blue.....and sorta stopped. I should probably get back to that little hunk o' junk. Especially since I have this insanely silly idea of sticking it to the back of a 1/1400 scale Nebula pylon some day.
