Normally I would agree, but I have a few old kits I would like to redo or salvage parts from and I can't get them apart without causing damage.
Testors glue is a weld cement. It slightly melts the plastic and fuses it together. Which is why it is hard to get apart and if you use too much melts the fook out of it.

As a kid building models, I probably applied too much of the stuff. Thankfully, I salvaged the top saucer and bussard collectors for this project.

It still works. I have a tube too. I prefer the liquid cements for control.
