May I ask, where do you go to find the files? I've been on the fence about the idea of getting a printer because I haven't learned 3d modeling AT ALL. But....if many files are already available, there's little sense in reinventing the wheel, is there?

....I mean don't get me wrong, I still want to learn how to model in 3D, but I'm also fully admitting I'm part of the fast-food generation and I'd love to be learning WHILE printing something in the background.

This giant Odyssey is amazing. Making me think about a 1/1400 scale version!

OK well here’s a couple updates on this little baby little bit of filling in on the first couple pieces and 70% of the print is done on peace number four.

Well crap! The warp in the sales minus the tips of them because they were gonna be from a different print, cracked out at 95%!!!! 5% from being done!!! Well I guess I can print the last 5% for that and plus the 20% for the front of them. I mean I still have half a saucer to do anyways plus the Aquarius auxiliary craft.

Well here’s a picture with a 24 inch t-square And a 1/1000 D7 Klingon cruiser for scale.

Dude I really don't think it's big enough. I wish you'd cut it out with these tiny models and start building starships in a MAN'S scale. I expect to see you printing a Galaxy class in 1/48 scale next week, m'kay?

Yeah... uh about that... my wife is already rolling her eyes at me! I think if I can figure out how to do Jupiter station... the rest will be "normal" sized TMP ships....

except for maybe the Klingon One Wing I'm working on...

or the Romulan Upgraded Winged Defender and Bird Of Prey:

Yeah I know they're from STO, and that they aren't TNG Winged Defenders or Birds of Prey... but I prefer them as those as they can be printed at reasonable sizes and still look appropriate!

Slowly moving onwards... I got the saucer printed. Still small warping effects at the edges... oh well. Test fitting it on the body. I will have to figure out how to support the nacelles... they are starting to droop...

Here you can see we’re almost done with printing the saucer... and a 1/1000 B. O. P. for a size reference

Next a couple of crazy Eddies designs in 1/1000 next to the now beginning to look like an Odyssey class starship. Yes that is an excelsior secondary hull and the Aquarius auxiliary craft the U.S.S. Scarab in both docking and flight modes.

And here she is above an Excelsior, Constitution and what I’m calling the Yorktown variant of the Constitution (AKA the J. J. CONNIE)

Can you drill some steel tubing in there?

Not easily. but I did use a nail gun... ok the Nails from a nail gun. Surprisingly this area is fairly small and thin (Dang it future!) for such a large model....

here she is in a different angle, you'll notice she now has her Bussard collectors too ;)
