Had to clear a couple of 1/2500 kits off of the bench before I could focus back on the D-18. I'm calling the hull, the boom, and the bridge module complete as far as paint. Here's what I came up with for the otherwise boring bridge module. I was going for a "tip of the spear" sort thing since they are a warrior race after all. Still need to finish painting the nacelles and then I can assemble and add decals. Can't wait to see it finished up and a dull coat applied.

A few more photos of how it looks assembled. Hopefully I can get some work done on the nacelles today. I'll add decals once I get a little closer to completion. Really getting energized because this is a kit I've wanted to build for quite awhile now. The 1/2500 version was fun as well, but just a bit too small to paint some of the intricate details like this one. When I get around to the 1/1400 later this year, maybe I'll try something different.

I like what you are doing with it.

I'm just finishing up the nacelles tonight. There's so much detail in them I almost succumbed to the urge to paint everything, but sometimes less is more. Got some decals added to the hull. Hope to have progress photos tonight or tomorrow.

Del, will that be a new print? A sister to these 1:2500 and 1:1000 models?
Or will it be the ex-Ravenstar version?

No, the 1/1400 will be a re-release of the Ravenstar kit, but with decals, and the builder can either paint the windows that are present, or putty them over and use decals from the sheet that are more symmetrical (how I intend to do with my build). Detail decals such as vent gratings and impulse engine should help with the overall look of that kit. Decals for the 1/1400 kit will be very similar to the 1/2500 version.

The kit is finished, but I'm waiting on Future to dry and then need a dull coat, maybe twice depending on results. So final photos should be tonight if I think it's safe to handle without goobering up the surface. Otherwise tomorrow. But for now, here's the 1/1000 scale decal set which allows for some variation in build styles.

That’s fine. I missed out on that particular Ravenstar offering. I’ll look forword to seeing it available again.

What you are doing here with her bigger sister is looking great.
