Agreed on both counts. Scan it to be safe. Shoot it w/ clear acrylic or Testors decal bonder just in case.
agreed - never hurts to be safe

Scanning the decals sheet is always a good idea. I'm doing this but also printing out my own set and adding all the missing shield grid lines on the saucer and engines just to give it a little more detail.

This might be my OCD talking ... but — if you're skilled with Adobe Illustrator — it's also a good idea (above and beyond scanning) to re-do the decal sheet in vector format. The printing on the decals is sometimes soft, mis-aligned/mis-registered, or even outright inaccurate.

I'm doing this for my Reliant build (which I need to get back to, sorry chaps), and will do it on all future builds, too.

It's a bit of extra graft on a build, but I think it's worth it. ;)
DANGER. SPACE DOORS ARE CLOSED.

"I saw it done on Discovery" is no excuse for anything, even breathing.
(With apologies to Tesral for nicking his sig. )

I use Corel Draw X6 - unfortunately I didn't scan my oberth decals as my scanner is missing the power cord when I moved. That has been rectified and when I find a local dealer that has them I'll scan them
