1/1000 Kelvin Timeline Fleet
Hello all! I thought I'd start a thread of my on going Kelvin era fleet. These are all the Starcraft kits, which were originally marketed as 1/1400 but are now 1/1000. They fit perfectly with the 1/1000 scale ships.
These pics are of most of the group pre-painting.

Lookin' great, Ian! I didn't know he had any ships with three nacelles that had the third on top. Is that a new one or maybe a kitbash you made?

Nice looking ships. I like these designs much better than Discovery. Also, they fit very well with the designs from Axanar.

I’m sure they did too;)
Still, I’m sure they thought, why waste a perfectly good design idea

Re: 1/1000 Kelvin Timeline Fleet
Agreed! I didn't like them at first since they were originally intended to be larger than the beloved TOS-E design. Over time, tho... And then it has been said by Dennis of StarCraft that they're now 1/1000 scale. That works for me! I like them as either Movie Era Terran Empire designs, or maybe from a group of Colony ships who unintentionally jumped thru a wormhole to a far point in our galaxy during the late 22nd century and developed a parallel society to the Federation, as well as similar design philosophy for their ships.
I just can't decide which I want to go with. Leaning heavily towards Terran Empire TMP Era, tho.

I was going to get back to this the other night and didn't, so I will now haha.
First one up is the Mayflower. This one really got me started learning about layering and light airbrushing and all that.

Re: 1/1000 Kelvin Timeline Fleet
Next up, the Fearless. This is based on the ship in the concept art book which also appeared for a few seconds in Star Trek Into Darkness, hiding under the starbase. It was supposed to be the Excelsior, thats what they had it named in the book, but I didn't want to do all those letters individually, so I picked on from the names sheet set for these kits made by Starcraft models. So I went with Fearless, seemed like a good name for a red ship.

Then, somehow, it seemed the time to make the ship that is the design mother for all of these other ones, since they just kitbashed all the others with this ones parts, the unfortunately fated USS Kelvin. It will be interesting to see what the Moebius one is like when it comes out.
