Klingon D5 War Cruiser Project

Post by Rigel » Thu Nov 16, 2017 7:46 pm

I saw an image of a D5 War Cruiser on the web, and thought that an interesting vessel. So i decided to have a try at recreating it in 1/1000 using one of the many old part built D7 models I had stashed away. Here is a picture of it with another 1/1000 D7 which is also currently being rebuilt (probably as a Roman version). Lots of cutting and shutting has been done, along with tons of filler. But it's beginning to take shape, although theres still loads to do. I have attached the original image that gave me the inspiration. Has anybody else had a crack at this previously?

There's a fella on several of the FaceBook Trek Groups named Dean Cass who's also into the SFB / SFU designs. He might have done a D-5, tho I don't recall. He's done some really neat stuff before.

Lookin' like you're off to a good start, tho!

Almost finished the filling, starting the clean up. Hopefully I can get some primer down this week.

Definitely! Great job all around

Did you do any changes to the ventral side?
