Can't speak to the hands, but it's a big ship. And not only was it a very cool build, it got a lot of oohs and aaahs on the contest floor.

A size comparison to the 1/1000 refit. And some playing with black light ;)

Words can't express the awesome that this Winged Defender is.
It's perfect scale, and finished well. :D
Excellent work - the color palette is inspiring.

I must ask... what is the Black Light for?
Is this to detect any imperfections in the surface (some superglue finger print?) or just moreso for fun?
the Winged Defender looks very interesting under black light.
As odd as this might seem, I wonder what it may look like near to an LED showercurtain or LED curtain?

Thanks for sharing

Thank you. The bright green and yellow on the warp engines, deflector, and impulse engines are fluorescent paint. So the black light makes them appear to light up.

Sweet build of a sweet model.

That is one sweet bird.
If I remember correctly, it worked the last time we did this. Unless it didn't.

Wow, beautiful! I built a smaller version of it a few years ago and loved it: http://tykensrift.blogspot.com/2010/04/ ... inged.html

Certainly interested in getting it in larger scale.

I ove your paint job, it's 70's-tastic in a good way!
