Re: Alliance Constellation (Picture Heavy)
I was looking for few Ideas myself. I might see if I can grab a clean graphic and paint that. That way I get the look before I commit the real model.

Sorry to hear about the issues you've experienced.

Still stalled on detail paint. I'm about ready to say; Screw it there is no blue" and start with designing decals.

Well other than the limited decals that came with the beast, blue grills for the nacelles. and decals for the various hanger bays. The front is a deflector.Commodore Red wrote:Yeah I got a similar quandry going on. What were ya thinking for decals?
You know I think I need to make a dish in tinkercad and put it there.

Hey finally someone that agrees with me that the front is a deflector! I had also thought about using some of the PL refit decals on various portions.......

Do up your cornor of the Trek 'Verse however you wish! I'll go with the semi-canon explanation of the main shuttle / cargo bay given in the old Star Trek The Magazine. I can't find my copy of the magazine, tho recall them talking about the massive shuttlebay in the bow.
These two ortho views are from the magazine. And yes, one of the callouts in the top image calls for a shuttle / cargo door to be an impulse engine.
Then there's this callout, which I believe is fan-made:
Since it has a Runabout in the main hangar, I don't count it as anything approaching canon for the original design.
Anyhow, I've always felt that either the two domes on the dorsal side are nav deflectors or those two odd-shape things are the nav deflectors. Not unlike with there being no obvious, dedicated nav deflector on the Miranda and Oberth classes of ships, those two areas make more sense to me as being that, than something that is the exact same surface detail as the other 6 sets of doors.
I tend to lean more towards the domes, regardless. It sort of matches up with the similar domes on the front underside of the Oberth-class, so works better for me.
As I said initially, tho - do your cornor of the Trek 'Verse as you wish! I'll do the same with mine!
