50th TOS Anniversary Group build - Roll Call
Hello everyone,
As I mentioned on the other thread, I think a friendly group build might be better than a contest. It's less pressure, and model builders from all level can join the fun...
So, nothing to be won except the satisfaction to finish a model for the 50th anniversary of The Original Series.
For the models : must be from TOS era but all scale and build allowed (oob, lights, kit-bash, scratchbuild, diorama...)
It has to be a new kit as the fun is to watch it build from start to finish.
.
For the time period, I was thinking 5 months, that way even the more complex builds can be completed.
So that would mean running this from April 1st to September 8th, which is the date the first episode aired 50 years ago ! .
What you guys think ? And who is thinking of joining ?
---
Update 1 : Change the end date from September 30th to September 8th. Thanks MEATLOAFr !

Perfect. I'm in it to... win it? Which is nothing. I'm on board though.

Count me in. I've had my eye on a couple of 1/1000 scale ships, and TOS is my fave series.

Nice to see the enthousiasme from everyone ! We are definitely a go then !
That's a great idea ! It still leaves a little over 5 months to get something build, which is enough I think... Gonna update the post right now...MEATLOAFr wrote:tentatively I'm in

I don't mind playing the Captain for a while... Unless you guys want to have elections for it ? I know it's the season in the US...Drop_Bear wrote:I'm in. Who'll be running the show, though?

Elections take time. Looks like you are enthusiastic and willing to lead the official charge, Julien. Since there's no prizes, book keeping probably will be mostly non-issue.
I'm curious about the format. Do our build logs have to go in a separate forum? I thought I remember that from lurking during previous AST contests.

Aye, I shot a pm to Xen earlier today asking him to create a new forum for the build logs. When that's done, I'll post some guidelines so everyone is on the same page and knows how to proceed...
