While I’m enjoying the story, I don’t know how well the idea of Kor being a Romulan agent sits with me....

But, carry on please. I have no doubt I shall enjoy the story, regardless!
He refers to himself as a Romulan spy but then states he has been working undercover. I suppose I need to make it more clear that he is working undercover for Klingon military intelligence. So he's pretending to be a Romulan spy.
I just edited the image to make that more clear now.

Well that was a twist! Kor a pawn of the Romulans while working for Klingon intelligence. Nice!

Although, it seems counter intuition that a StarFleet Captain, even in grief, would obsessively seek revenge.

Still, like griffworks said, please carry on!

Waiting the next frame.

Thanks for the comment Steve. Just to clarify though, Kor is referring to the attack he led 10 years earlier when he states he has been a pawn of the Romulans, not that he currently is a pawn of the Romulans. Now, of course, he is a pawn of Tatenen's.
As far as a starfleet captain allowing guilt/grief/vengeance to trump his responsibilities as a starfleet officer, you only need to watch TOS episode "Obsession" to see an example of that involving Kirk.
