Re: Miranda Class
Okay, completed all of the Aztec decals. God news is that for the top of the saucer, it wasn't necessary to cut out the individual panels... as long as you could live with the dark gray grid lines. I can live with it. After fighting the decals, this is how it stands now.
Since Micro Sol destroys the decals when they are wet, I have to wait until the decals dried before popping the air bubbles and using it to make the rest of the decals settle.

Re: Miranda Class
Started to add some of the detail decals. The rollbar is also almost complete, except for the pinstripes around the torpedo launchers. I am not looking forward to that. That will be next then it is off to the top of Reliant and some of the windows. Hitting the homestretch now it seems.

Re: Miranda Class
Dryfitting the nacelle's today and PVT Murphy decided to pay a visit. While trying to attach the nacelle to the pylon, one of the slipped all the way up the entire pylon and scratched the silver off the Starfleet pendant. This is suppose to be a relaxing hobby right?
Completed the pin stripes for the roll bar and started on the red on the rear of the main body. It's coming along now.

Re: Miranda Class
Applying the decals on the upper saucer now. Plus attached the nacelles and working out how to attach the rollbar once I complete the last of the decals.
Courtesy of PVT Murphy. While rearranging my small model shelf, bumped my TOS Enterprise with that crappy base. This is the end result. Such a shame, it was one of the first models I worked on when getting back into building.

Re: Miranda Class
Ouch! Fortunately, it's not a difficult fix.
Put some styrene beam or a couple of thin brass rods into the broken end of the nacelle pylon, and secure them with some Aves/super glue gel. When it's dry, insert the brass rods into the nacelle and glue in place with super glue gel (use Zip Kicker/Insta-Set to avoid crazing). A little putty work around the seam, some paint touch-up, and she'll be good as new!

Re: Miranda Class
Thanks for the info on that. I have another 1/1000 sealed in my stash. Will try to fix this and when I build that one I can see how it compares.

Get a tube of "Plastic Surgery". It likes a super-duper Super Glue. Dries in seconds. Will bond any plastic to any plastic. I used it to attach the DLM wing hinge kit to the wings of my KBOP when regular CA didn't work.ulvdemon wrote:Thanks for the info on that. I have another 1/1000 sealed in my stash.
