SSM site
anyone else seeing the drop off of topics getting worse over there?
topics don't last a week, I have tones unread that it tells me are no longer available - some posts show multiple pages, but only the last page is view-able
it's infuriating that you have to go there DAILY to see anything, and post about how good something looks is unverifiable
I had a post there about the white decals, and it's all gone - and just after 3 days
I can't be the only one... am I?

Re: SSM site
Different forums over at SSM have different drop off durations but none that I have know are as short as 3 days. SSM upgraded their forum software in May and there were a lot of changes in how things work, this drop off problem may be a configuration issue at the server end.
I would suggest sending a PM to john (OneZero) regarding this. He is tied up in the real world meat space a lot recently so just posting about this in the discussion forums may not be seen for a while.
I personally wish SSM did not use thread drop offs- some sites keep everything which is extremely useful when doing research on an older kit or trying to learn a technique.

Re: SSM site
SSM used to be my go-to modeling forum but now I rarely visit it to show my new builds. It used to be because they would only allow links to images in threads. It was just too much work when all the other sites I visit allow inline images. Now they allow you to show the image in the thread but this whole thing about threads dropping off is now the biggest reason I don't post much there anymore.

Re: SSM site
I only ever put one post over there. That lasted a week before it went. That was for my USS Andrea the Oberth variant scout. Had quite a few comments and suggestions but, well, that all went down the spout.
I just use it for quick eye candy now or as another market for new kits.

I might add that I still use the SSM Store from time to time. They recently got in a shipment of AVES Apoxy Sculpt which they had been out of for what seemed like years. Ordered me some right away before they sold out.

Re: SSM site
As an experiment I posted a thread with images of my Spindrift. It will be interesting to see how long it stays up.
