I think you got robbed !
it should have got Gold or better yet ; Platinum !
the removable nacelles for transport is a great idea that should have been seen as a bonus not a
detraction.
maybe the judges thought that the studio models of the enterprise are one big piece that your ship should be ,too ???

Excellent job, I would like to see what actually won gold as I can't see a thing wrong with the endurance.

I certainly appreciate the thought and work that went into this, even if the overall concept doesn't work for me.

It's been fun to watch this build. The detail you put into it is just so awesome and inspiring.

The best part for me, are the nacelle caps, and the impulse engines! When every ship that someone comes up with seems to have more and more massive impulse engines, you showed restraint, and I love that.

Just great stuff!

Sooooo: what's next? ;)

Agreed. Stunning work.

The ship actually ticks all of my boxes, I just love the overall feel, except I think I'd have liked the nacelles to raise up slightly rather than sit flat.

Maybe cliched but I think it would work better on this.

Thanks for looking.

It's impossible to please everyone. In the end, I build what works for me.

The nacelles can either be above the primary or below them. The pylons are pitched upwards by 12º. Midway through construction , I realized that the pylon intersected the translucent swoop that wrapped the nacelle. Originally, this was not meant to be lit. This necessitated lowering the nacelles by 1/2". Raising the nacelles above the edge of the primary would be a fairly radical change in the design and extending the pylons beyond comfortable limits for me.

I admit it is nickpicking to the extreme and of course personal taste so hold no weight really.

The bottom line is that its a beautiful and amazing peice of work and deserved a gold place in my book!.
