What an incredible build. It's a thing of beauty for sure, and definitely something to be super proud of!!!

Question. I noticed that you've accented the grid lines on the secondary hull. I like it a lot! Did you do the same with the primary hull, and how did you accent it - paint, or draw it in w pencil?

Hi Nova thank you for the kind words.

The shield grid pattern is done with soft pencil in the grooves washed in with a 000 wet paintbrush to even it out.

Works well I think.

I still need to finish the model off as I am currently working on a model railway project ahead of two back to back exhibitions over the next 2 weekends.

Once they are over I will finish this and make a start on my 1:1400 enterprise E.

Vallejo model colour. Various shades mixed to suit. It all ended up bluer than I planned but its grown on me since.
It looks actually quite good. Which Vallejo colors? Thank you again.

Nice use of the pencil! I'd planned on doing the same thing, but I was a little nervous about it. Great to see how nice it looks! I've seen some builds that didn't accent the grid lines, and you know they look great, but......I just felt like it needs a *little* more definition in there.

Yes I was in two minds about the pencil. It was only when I saw that the studio model had it that I said yes I need to have it on there.

Glad I decided to add it on. It makes a massive difference I think.

One beautiful, iconic shot. Wow. Man I want this kind of thing in my house. Looking forward to, and also deathly afraid of, this build when I get to her.
