I want!

And I love that it is molded in black! They clearly planned for this beat to be lit with that choice! It also helps that this ship is already a darker color, unlike the Federation ones.

So Looking forward to this kit. The paint masking is going to be a PITA - but that's part of the fun :)

The build is going very well, no real problems.

I do think that the instructions sheet has a few errors.

The instructions call for a small detail piece, "part 7" Part 7 is used in about 6 places. On the sprue they are labeled 7A, 7B, 7C etc. The instructions on all 6 just say "7" They are keyed so they are not interchangeable. As far as I can tell there is a right hand version and a left hand version You can't really put them in the wrong place, but it would be annoying to take one off the sprue, clean it up and then find you have to hold on to it for a later step.

Just make sure you're matching up the bottom pegs, the detail part on the left should be a mirror of the one on the right.

The instructions call for part 44 twice, on the sprue they are labeled 44 and 45. I can't see a difference in these parts.

I am so happy that R2 included this resin bridge. It would have been very easy of them to just say the styrene bridge was good enough. I'm sure an garage kit maker would have made a resin version for people who wanted one that was more accurate.

This tells me that Charles Adams and Jamie H really went to bat to make this an accurate kit for us.

More parts without locator pins. Just lay them in place, put a drop of extra thin cement on the seam and you're good.

this one was a little harder. there wasn't too much of an indent for it to sit in, but still not a problem and that detail is nice and crisp.

Now that I have the neck and head built we can start to get an idea of scale....

I just realized that I hadn't shared a picture of the decal sheet. The big Klingon insignia should be over three inches wide and about 4 inches tall. R2 has also done us a favor by dividing it into three sections so it's easier to apply.

Assembly of the rear engine section.
Ther engine grills have some left over material from the injection process.

I wanted to get a base layer of paint on this surface before assembly so I wouldn't have to mask the windows.

I'm using the suggest Tamiya colors with one exception. I couldn't find Dark Iron at the two local stores I went to. Dark Iron is a brownish color that is mixed with Buff to make the darker taupe color used on this bulk head and as accents on the neck.

IN this picture the lighter tan color is Buff which is the suggested, the darker color is what I mixed.

I used Tamiya buff and mixed it with some colors I had on hand to get as close as I could. This is the only color where I'll be deviating from the suggested paints.
