I was never happy with my initial bridge build. It was too large. The height was over by a full 2mm. The diameter was too large and it didn't fit right.

So I did some more accurate drawings in sketchup. Used plans from the Phase II bridge for some dimensions. And started rebuilding. So far, I'm much more happy with how this is turning out.

Next up is the railing is the helm/ conn, captains seat, railing, and pit steps.

Then I'll start the walls, stations, and turbo lifts.

I wish I could get the more 3D figures though. They're just TOO expensive in Canada. Either the kits or shapeways.

Oh- because I'm doing a basic lighting on the model, I'll add some fibre optics to the bridge.

score!
this will be fun to watch --- will it also 'light-up/backlight'? <--- that would be a triumph for miniaturized mPCB etc.

------
Will there be plans eventually for a 1:48/1:52ish scale of that for tabletop folks?
It'd be great for the 1:48 boarding-actions etc. or for the modular "duck-blind'/'federation facilities".

I'm going to try to get some light into it. Everything is just so damned small! Ideally, I wish the displays could have been printed on some plastic medium, and in colour, and just back light.

And I wish I could have printed up the entire bridge for that matter.

Thanks. It's for doing it the hard way, right? LOL

Just test fitting the consoles. Wish I could have got them just a little smaller.
