Adversaries would be a better term. This could be anything from the Klingons of the TMP (and TNG to an extent) to the Vulcans of Enterprise IMO.Moongrim wrote:Villains to whom, though?

The Federation is a villain to those they contend with.
There are Times, Sir, when men of good Conscience cannot blindly follow orders. You acknowledge their sentience, but ignore their personal liberties and freedoms. Order a man to hand over his child to the state? Not while I"m captain.

When it comes to skin tones, about the best I could come up with would be a Horta.

Re: AST Competition Ideas
Here's an idea or 2:
A kit bash contest to see who can build a USS Discovery, and whomever comes closest to what it actually ends up looking like, wins?
Or
Re-imagine a familiar Star Trek ship, as if it were to be designed using 1930s-1940s aesthetics.

So a saucer or cigar shape with fins? No nacelles or secondary hull? Talk about a challenge to make something trek-like with those restrictions in mind.nova1972x wrote:Here's an idea or 2: Re-imagine a familiar Star Trek ship, as if it were to be designed using 1930s-1940s aesthetics.

Re: AST Competition Ideas
how about damaged ships?
I have an old kit that's missing some pieces that would make an excellent damaged subject

Re: AST Competition Ideas
Obviously would entail more than that, and would include the basic familiar ship designs we know. I'm just saying 1930s-40s influence on the designs. For example, maybe make the saucer or the nacelles look like saucers or rockets from the 1930s or 40s.trekriffic wrote:So a saucer or cigar shape with fins? No nacelles or secondary hull? This thread sort of gave me the idea. Though not really a 1930s/40s influence, it does look to me like that version could have been a 1950s interpretation of a constitution class.

does that make more sense?

Re: AST Competition Ideas
Looks like kitbash kits are the leading contender.
