2018 February Quick Contest

Starting a poll to see how many would be willing to participate in a quick contest in February.

Competition will run from 1st of February to 28th of February.
This will be an OOB build. No extra decals (unless the kit didn't come with any) and no extra parts. Paint will of course be allowed.

I think we need more info to draw people in. There needs to be a clear prizes, there needs to be skill categories, ie beginner, intermediate, advances and so on. lastly there needs to be a theme to the contest.

Thanks Rougewolf. I suppose I did just rush in with a poll to start off.

Until we can sort those items out I will say that a contest in February is out of the question. Maybe March though.

well, there is the newbie section, which would suit the 'get it built w/ rattlecan and super glue' option.

the intermediate and veteran section [it is all one grey area to me] would require more thought.

too many people have ideas and want to [maybe] do their own thing with running something.

the last i read loafr was letting the group build he was running last until the end of this month.

i know tesral has ideas for something. rw has an interest. mo, seems keen to do -something-. i will send out a pm and see who wants to do want.

I do. With winter dropping the hammer on me I ask a bit of leeway. I need to study the rules for older AST contents. I was planing to announce Jan 15, but the date caught up with me. So we are going to get a Feb/March contest.

The Theme will be "Out of the Box". Details to follow when I can think.

by all means have a look at the old contest rules. don't take those as the format you must follow though.

that was me back in the day, trying to be creative, with special groups, galleries etc.

i felt it has more appeal if there was a hint of prestige about it, as opposed to being able to join whenever. creating some hype from nothing.
