Peeling paint on a resin kit

Post by SKO » Sat Oct 20, 2018 4:20 pm

So I just got a steamrunner kit, washed it in soap and water, used automotive primer and the damn paint still came off with the masking tape. Did I just not get the mold release completely off? Should I have soaked it longer?

soak it then refresh the water with warm soapy and give a good scrub with a old toothbrush.
You may have missed some of the release

For obliterating greasy residue and/or old paint, go to your local automotive store and get some Super Clean. It comes in a big purple jug and just tears through any surface films.
