I think so far so good. This was my E-D as it sat for years, always intimidating me with the number of windows and lifeboats and looking too plain and boring next to my others:

here's the (mostly finished, I have since noticed that I missed some lifeboats on the back of the saucer that were inexplicably done as two long patches instead of individual lifeboats, so I painted those and then painted grey lines to separate them) version. I know a true complete Galaxy would have the aztec'ing but I just don't love this ship or this model enough to do that, this I think is presentable enough to go on the shelf:

Came out very nice indeed. :D

I haven't done/built my D yet, but yeah, that's the way I plan on doing the windows. ;)
The fine black perm marker for the "turned off" windows, and a White-out pen for the "lit" ones. :lol: ;)
The excess white-out can easily be scratched off lightly, after it's dried, with no damage what so ever. ;)

That turned out rather well. The windows make a big difference for this design.
