Scratchbuilding simple Nacelles - step by step

Hu I have built a few thinks using this layering technic. But never thought of bending it after words. How much pressure do u put on it and does it spring back at all?

That is pretty much how the wing shape on the Manta is done (My Avatar) I had no worthy camera when that one was built.

The wing is four layers, with the outer two the size of the whole wing. It was glued at the top of the hull, allowed to dry, then bent into the shape and the bottom glued. That curve is pure physics.

I have been building in layers since I first made phaser ones from sheets of balsa wood as a kid.

ive got a nacell design for my custom ships .. actualy 2 based off same design .. tho one is for the " mother ship ) and is actualy 2 engines in a common nacell ..so the ship basicaly has 4 warp engines .. each nacell has a built in impulse unit as well .. actualy am redesigning the mother ship since i realy didnt like the first draft .. lol .. i can send ya the small craft design since its used on everything else from the escort to shuttles , attack craftand gunboats .

Reading the tutorial, I understand how now to do a couple of them, the round TOS style engine would be something I would like to learn how to do.

Those are some nice designs there! What scale are you looking to do these in? Or maybe a better question would be, how long were you looking to build these nacelles? I've never done a round nacelle before but I already have several ideas to start with.

I was think 1/2500 scale, start small to begin with. If you would like I can post the full picture of the ships those engines come from.
