Greeting From ATL and Joes Garage

Post by ironman150 »

Hi Guys! I'm Joe and have been a member for a number of years but I've been away for a number of years too. I think it was during the 2014 model contest...

I love talking Trek and Facbook is a mess triggered vs Trolls. So hoping to try a get some good discussion going.

I own a comic and game store in the suburbs of Atlanta GA.

My Trek series ranking is:
TOS
TAS
DS9
TNG/ENT (tie)
VOY

JJ-verse

Welcome back, don't be a stranger!

I'm curious as to your high ranking of TAS - seems different. I did a binge watch a year or two ago and put my 2 cents as far as pros/cons in one of my posts. What are your thoughts/preferences on the subject?

A. It was probably my first experience with Trek since I was born in 69. But I found the Teleplays to be smart and well written. The animation doesn't bother me at all. My only wish was that they were one hour shows but you just didn't do that in animation. (James Doohan like TAS because he got paid the character and he did a bunch of them! )

If I added fims to the above list all the TOS movies and First Contact would beat out TAS as well. But I'd rather watch and Endless loop of TAS than Voyager.

Shatner, Nimoy and Deforest are such a magical threesome one of the best of all time.

DSC dead last... Poor ole discovery. It's all that weird ship flippity floppity spore drive, odd looking ships, cotton mouthed Klingons, and horrible dialogue, isn't it?

All problems that would have been solved by setting it after Nemesis... apart from the clunky dialouge of course.
