I'd like to join a competition again, but I have so much going on in real life that I can't commit to any progress on a model. Also, I prefer to see the photos in the various build threads.

When I finally start work on my second 1/350 scale Enterprise, I'll post photos, but contests aren't a draw to me. Just my opinion.

I'd probably be down for a contest. I don't do them often, but might be a nice way to get back in to my building now that the new house is settled in a little.

How about widening the net a little ? Not just models , include scale drawings , CGI , or conventional artwork . Make the competition about aesthetic skills .

Design a destroyer for example .

Fandom is forever expanding the genre . Why not add a few of our own ?

I may not have time to complete a conventional model , but I can get the idea for the ship of my dreams out there at least 8-)

i'm not opposed to it. however, i think it would have limited appeal given the fact that folks seem to forums mainly on physical modeling. further thought is required to fit i new categories that don't involve physical model making.
