Please do not compare this forum with facebook. Instead, compare it with other modeling forums that have a way for others to acknowledge other modelers efforts with a 'like' button or similar. Facebook 'likes' is focused on being liked as a person. Modelers like to know if their model is liked. There is a difference.

i don't think i've seen ''like's'' on other forums, just ''thanks''. do you have any examples?

i could see if someone could create ''compliment smilies'' with a smilie, thumbs up, holding a banner saying ''one million likes, just from me'' or something novel and funny.

If you can like someone's model pictures instead of commenting, there'll be a lot less posts.

i agree. but then i'm guessing there are people on places such as fb that like to like, like o comment and like to do both.

Several have what you have suggested, i.e., smilies. They are opened, for selection, when clicking on the heart button. The heart button, without selecting a smilie, is the 'like' button.

yes, i have come across the ''heart'' button before on twitter. a variation of a theme. do any of these forums run phpbb software for their forums?

i know certain board software come with ''thanks''. vbulletin, i think, but i wold only be willing to investigate this further if phpbb has an extension or some third party option.
