Discovery Enterprise **SPOILER** image heavy

For everything Star Trek related, that isn't covered by the other forums.

Where was this originally posted? I have been trying to search for it to see if there is a larger version. Thanks!

I honestly can't deny disliking this ship at all. It's a good looking model and I'm glad they at least put some thought into it, even if they clearly had no intention of employing the TOS connie or that universe timeline at all. It's a reboot of the timeline. Unlike TNG was a reboot of Star Trek, but was also a direct continuation that didn't dump all over TOS.

Don't take my ramblings to mean I'm dumping over anyone who likes Discovery. It's the ideas presented on the show, not the people who like them...

In another thread, trekmodelermichelle26 said that the length of the Enterprise was upsized to the Refit. The artist of this picture upsized it some more

How accurate is that? It is definitely bigger.

OK. It'll be interesting to see how close you are to the actual scale. :)

I liked it in the show, but to be honest the more pics I see the less I'm keen. Those black rings on the saucer really dont look right to me.

What I don't like is the dumping on the original Connie as if she's an abomination that needs to be buried. That's like hating my great-grandmother because in the pictures I have of her she's not wearing the latest fashions.
Agreed!

Back when I was a kid I used to look at pictures and illustrations of the TOS Ent and wish that I had an accurate model of it; that's why I hated the old AMT kit, it was a grotesque caricature of the Enterprise. I was so happy when Polar Lights came out with their 1/1000 model, it was just perfect. It's one of only two model kit's I've ever built more than one of; still my favorite model.
