Sorry for resurrect this old post, but I found it just now, and actually there is another episode which allows for a better size estimation, it is season 3 episode 20 "Tin Man", where a Romulan Warbird pass exactly over the Enterprise, shotting at it on the process, and disabling it. The scene is fast, but as it pass over the enterprise, there are less perspective distortion.

I will try to get a better shot, as if I am not wrong, on the sequence of this scene, there is a side view which shows the Warbird passing over the Enterprise.

Yes, that's one of the instances where you can see the scale is off. The Warbird doesn't look quite as large as it is supposed to be, if I remember correctly.

@fleetyard
does that revise the Oberth's overall length and beam as an increase or decrease to the overall dimensions? ...
Between each deck of Starfleet ships are Jeffries tubes. If the Oberth class were only 120,4m long, then it would have a deck height of 2,9m (-1m Jeffries tube = 1,9m for a room). That's just too small to be credible. That's why the Oberth class is bigger than on the ILM Size Chart.
