Kitbashed Klingon Vessel

Post by patrickivan » Sun Nov 11, 2012 1:04 pm

This is a model a bashed a couple of years ago. Thought it would make a nice first post here. It's more of a re-arranging of parts really.

One thing I played around with is photographing it using different lighting. Because it was painting with a metalic automotive paint, it really took the given light and gave some interesting effects.

The base coat was auto primer. Middle coat was flat colours- that's where a lot of reds and greens were used. It was quite vibrant at this point. The final coat was the automotive light metalic blue. I added layers until the middle coats were just visible under the right light, so that it wouldn't look too colourful.

Opps- just found the pre-auto colour application photos- here's one and a link to my wordpress with the rest. Larger photos there if you click on them. Enjoy!

I'm surprised the studio never designed the ship this way, or at least gave us a variant like yours. It looks more predatory in this configuration.

Absolutley It has that attack look and kinda brings the bird of prey design back into the family.
