MadMan's Shipyard - 3D Printing

Hey guys! Several of you guys already know me, but I've been lurking around here for a while and thought I would share more of what I have been doing since my original post in the introductions section. I'm Ricky, and I've been designing, building and 3D printing model kits for about 6 years now. In that time, we've also made about 10 convention appearances around the Pensacola FL area, and having a blast!

Speaking of, it's almost convention season for me again, and people always ask if I do any of my own, original stuff. I've been thinking on that, and decided to come up with my own little universe called "The Doomsday Alliance". I have attached images and the backstory below, but here goes the abridged version:

There are 3 races; The Osnovian Union (basically the Federation from Star Trek TOS, but not as big); The Technocracy, who are technology addicted and augmented humans that let their AIs run everything for them (Not quite the Borg, but kind of inspired by them); and the Karceleks, which are a semi-sentient race of living spacecraft that eat heavier metals. The evolved to eat asteroids and stuff like that, but also get attracted to ships and settlements like ants are to sugar. :)

I'm planning to debut these in real life for the first time at our next convention in November, at the Island Resort on Fort Walton Beach, along with all of my usual stuff. I'll be adding new stuff to this thread, along with my Facebook page, as usual. :D

Thanks guys, more soon!

On the Trek side of things, the latest kit that I've been making is based on DM Phoenix's Allegiance Class. He was gracious enough to let me turn his old renders into a kit.

It came out really well, and I've been happy with it. It's about 16" inches long, making it just a little bit smaller than the AMT Ambassador class kit. The kit was also designed with Saucer Separation capability in mind, if anyone would like to display it that way.

Thanks guys, more soon!

Hey guys! Got a new kit, fresh off the printers. By request, I did a roughly 1:1400 scale Excalibur Class kit. It came out really good, and is a neat little ship.

Let me know if anyone would like one!

You got the Alligance Class

I've been meaning to request if he'd be happy for me to build the Republic Class as it's a gorgeous design too (Cross of a Prometheus and Intrepid)

If you ever kit it, let me know!
