1/7600 Enterprise & D-7 needed

Hi folks,
I have the repopped K7 Space Station kit, and the Enterprise which comes with the kit is utterly execrable. I need a TOS Constitution class and a Klingon D-7 to go with it for my planned build, which involves a shadowbox and lighting. I see folks making 1/7000 ships; would these be close enough in scale?

There will be aprox 5mm in difference between the two scales.
