Re: Favorite Era Poll

My favorite is the TOS era. Starfleet is just that, a fleet. The military arm of the Federation. Yes they explore, but they are trained to fight and to defend the borders. Not talk an opponent to death. Trained diplomats did the negotiating. Growing up and then serving in the USMC during the cold wa...

Re: Some of my TOS era ships

Thanks!
I need to get them out on the gaming table. They have been in drydock for far too long.

Re: Favorite Scale Poll

1/2500 for me.
I use them for tabletop gaming and they offer enough detail to be interesting and not hard to store or move around.

Re: Some of my TOS era ships

Thanks guys.
I've been spending all of my model building/gaming time on 1/87 scale armor and just checked the site for the first time in a while.

I really do need to drag the fleet out of space dock and get it back on the game table. It's been far too long......

Re: Oriskany Class Thru-Deck Cruiser

The pylon mounted dish would seem to be the way to go. With the deflector sticking down from the bottom of the primary hull, the front hangar bay is almost useless for landings. Takeoffs would be a challenge as well. A pilot would have to approach from the side and sideslip into the hangar. Even tho...

Re: The Best of Both Worlds

Excellent.
It's showing at the IMAX less than 2 miles from my house. With new SFX and on a huge screen, this should be a good time.

Re: 1/537 USS Saratoga (pic heavy)

That is some fantastic work. I wish I still had the time to try and tackle a project like that. I'm limite to mostly smaller scale that doesn't require all of the aztecing.

Re: Some of my TOS era ships

Thanks.
I wanted it to look like something that would be a 'standard' design. More of a forward operating base than a full fledged Star base. Something modular and easily assembled from standard tug pods that the fleet engineers could throw together to get up and operational in a short time.

Re: Some of my TOS era ships

I think I still have some close-ups of the smaller fleet units and support ships. About half of those pictured were sold off a few years ago during a period of unemployment. I sold a couple hundred Full Thrust ships and Battletech mini's, but a hung onto as many of my Trek ships as I could. :D Let m...
