U.S.S. Bacco bridge development log.

Postby Serin019 » Thu May 05, 2016 3:10 am

So.. I've been playing around with this style of bridge for about a year now and I'm finally starting to get excited about it.
Dear gods its good to have my workstation back online!

Starting with some non-rendered viewport shots with heavy use of ambient occlusion to bring out the details.
My standard 1.8m tall Andorian for scale reference.
Vesta model credit goes to David Metlesits, with a little modification by me.
Haven't done much at all to the ready room, just blocking it out really.

And one final quick noisy render of a thing that I've tried about a million versions of...

Love it! I like the nod to the TNG bridge with the rails. The front one is pretty new and I like it.

Mm! Me too! I can't quite claim credit for the idea completely though, there was a picture I remember from quite a while ago that had a similar set up.
The rails just clicks in all the right places for me. Very much a ship of exploration vs the E bridge for instance.

I see that Helm and Navigation are much closer to the captain's chair. Helps to be able to hear what the captain has to say vis a vis.

Bacco? As in the Federation President assassinated?

Yup! The very same, built almost exactly 20 years after said assassination.
Within the fiction I've been working on an order of 20 of these ships had been called for by President zh'Tarash towards the end of her final term, with the Bacco being the 17th completed.

Ships named after assassinated presidents? Sounds like some "bad juju" there

More so named for a president who achieved more than pretty much all of her recent predecessors.

Bacco was a powerhouse- such that she ended up being targeted.
As opposed to naming ships after folks who should have been assassinated?
