Romulan Vengeance from NorthTrek Creations

Post by Del »

Been working on this kit on-and-off for a few months now, and since I'm part way through the build phase I thought I'd share what's going on thus far. Here's what comes in the kit -------

The first page of the instruction sheet is finished.

RogueWolf envisioned the kit being painted with darker colors, so I ended up with this as a base color. Don't ask me what colors I used, because it was a hodge-podge layering of different colors until I found what looked right to the eye. Still need to do detail painting, so a lot more work to go before decals. And since decal design work is almost finished, this build will be as fast as the paint job takes until I'm satisfied that it looks right.

Oh, neat! What are the dimensions? Looks like maybe 8” / 20cm to 9” / 23cm? Wondering if it might make for a small 1k Romulan cruiser, maybe set in The Lost Era?

Already discussed that with RogueWolf, so I'll be making 2 sets of window decals for the kit. The set with larger diameter portholes could be used for either 1/1000 or 1/1400 as far as I'm concerned, so the kit will be listed as "Multi-Scale". This build will be using the 1/2500 scale windows though. When assembled, the kit is 8.5"/21.5cm long, and 7.5"/19cm wide.

Looks like the top half of a D'deridex.

Also looks great, love the deep colours you used.

Sweet size at 8.5” / 21.5 for 1/1000. Looking forward to adding it to my Romulan Fleet!

That's awesome- but if the decals are opaque white with clear background (ALPS or silkscreen) I'd buy the decals in bulk!

Nope. I've had an ALPS MD-5000 new out of the box with plenty of cartridges for 4 years, standard print test proves it works with my XP system, but I can't get any assistance on how to use it with spot printing. Decals will be have to be black.
